About the Bangkok

South-East Asia's Biggest Tourist Paradise

Bangkok, Thailand's capital, attracts millions of tourists from across the globe each year. The city is recognized as a popular travel destination owing to its unique quality of being the largest and most well-developed city in Thailand, which has also managed to maintain its historic architecture and ancient customs dating back hundreds of years. Bangkok, which is, for the most part, a starting point for a Thailand vacation, is full of excitement, organized chaos, unbound freedom, kitsch extravagance, and manic adventure. With the many gigantic skyscrapers, majestic palaces, stunning beaches, and a world-famous floating market, Bangkok continues to attract millions of travelers from all over the world.

Delectable Cuisine

Since the tourism boom in Thailand in the 1980s, Thai cuisine has established itself as one of the foremost culinary arts in the world. It is one of the five most popular types of food in the world, with the others being Indian, Chinese, French, and Italian. When you visit Thailand, although it is possible to taste western food, tourists most often seek out the local cuisine as they find themselves in the home of one of the greatest cooking disciplines in the world.

Thai cuisine originates from people who migrated from the southern provinces of China to modern Thailand many centuries ago. Historically, there were many Sichwanese influences in Thai cuisine, although, over the centuries, many other influences have affected Thai cuisine. In the more distant past, the Buddhist monk brought an Indian touch, and the southern Muslim states influenced the cuisine of southern Thailand. Much later, Thai cuisine was influenced by European cuisine after contacts with Portuguese missionaries and Dutch traders. During these times, there were even Japanese influences. Today, Thai cuisine is characterized by its unique nature, being a blend of the five flavor profiles - sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and spicy.
